Microbrew Theme Party

I came up with this idea because I wanted more beer reviews on our website. So I decided to have a bunch of friends come over and asked everyone to bring at least a six-pack of some craft beers. They could either bring their favorite brew or better yet a craft beer they never tried. The idea was that everyone would share their beers with everyone else. We then proceeded to take notes of the different beers. We made notes on color, aroma, head, hop bitterness and any flavors we noticed in each type of beer. We barbecued some brats and had a great time taking notes and discussing the different type of beers.

Keg Party Pumps

Hand pumps are the most common type of pump used for keg parties. The outside air is pumped into keg by using a hand pump. There are also different types of pumps and couplers that vary depending on the brewery. Normally the retailer that you purchase your keg from should have this information. Keep in mind that the beer will only stay fresh for a short time, approximately 10 hours. If you want to keep the beer fresh and tasting good for more than 10 hours, you should invest in a CO2 system. A CO2 system can keep the beer tasting fresh for up to 2 months or longer. CO2 will also help eliminate foam for a faster and more easier pour. Party Keg Pump Use:

1. Connect the party pump (tap the keg). Insert the coupler into the keg valve and depress the handle.

2. Before pumping, open faucet releasing natural keg pressure. First beers may consist of foam.

3. Pour beer by squeezing the black faucet open completely. Partial opening of the faucet may create foam.

4. Only pump to maintain a good beer flow. Over pumping will create foam. Keep hose and faucet out of direct sunlight
